A flash flood risk exists due to the nature of the Tipalt Burn catchment. The valley is steep causing this upland catchment to respond rapidly to rainfall a result of the gradient and only moderate permeability of the underlying geology.

These “Flash Floods” can be sudden and serious and could happen again.

Some simple reminders should help you if there is another Flash Flood.
