By calling this number Flood Wardens in Greenhead can activate a Community Flood Plan to assist residents and visitors

Death of Her Majesty the Queen 1926-2022

Greenhead Parish Council is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty the Queen.

Greenhead Parish Council offers its deepest condolences to the Royal Family at this time. The Queen will be forever remembered for her devotion to her Country and the Commonwealth.

Greenhead will postpone their meeting to be held on 19th September until Monday 26th September.

Laying of flowers  

Following the death of Her Majesty the Queen, members of the public are invited to lay floral tributes at St Cuthbert's Church.

West Northumberland Councils Working Together for the Jubilee

West Northumberland Councils Working Together for the Jubilee

 

In commemoration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, five councils have joined forces to purchase china commemoration mugs for the children in their local schools. Haltwhistle Town Council, Henshaw, Bardon Mill, Plenmeller with Whitfield Parish and Greenhead Parish councils chose a china mug depicting the Queen on her coronation.

Northumberland County Council Reading with Wellbeing

Reading for Wellbeing is a project to explore how stories and reading can offer comfort, escape, laughter and inspiration in difficult times. Author Ann Cleeves is working with Public Health and the Library Service to ensure that everyone has access to free books and to groups that offer stories and friendship.We offer the companionship of like-minded people in a safe, confidential setting where you can lose yourself in a book, escape from the everyday, make friends and find a listening ear.

Greenhead Parish Council Logo Competition

The Council held a competition with Greenhead Primary School and asked the children to design a logo for Greenhead. The image attached was the winning one.

5 winners received Waterstones book tokens for prizes and the council donated £50 to the school for the purchase of books to thank all the children who entered.

The other winning entries can be seen below or in Greenhead Cafe, who have kindly offered to display them.

 

Greenhead War Memorial Centenary

Greenhead celebrates 100 years since the War Memorial was erected on Friday 13th November 2020.
